Another book hangover by Darcy! Every time I pick a favorite in this series she tops it. I was hooked from the start with the duel and the mystery surrounding the reason for it. I couldn't believe her parents put her in the position they did and forced her hand. The sexual tension between them flies off the pages and when it explodes the whole house knows. I loved them together and how everyone was trying to help them. The ending was perfect and made me want more.

Emmaline has many feelings about her husband's death and hatred is one of them. She had married for love but was not happy. I loved her from the start because she laid blame where it needed to be and did what she had to so she could have a chance at being happy. She was a quick thinker and when she opened her heart again it was great.

Lionel is a tortured soul and really the Duke of Honor too. Everything he did was because of honor and for other people. I loved him right away and he melted my heart with the kitten. He didn't hide his feelings and his desire to have a life like his parents. I was on edge hoping nothing would happen to him.
