This book is based on a lynching that took place in Mobile, Alabama in 1981. Don't let that stop you for reading this well-written debut from Ravi Howard. The auth plunges the reader into the black community after the discovery of Michael Donald. We follow his friends and their family and other members of the community and we see how this death affects them all. Howard centralises black people in this book and that's one of the many excellent parts of this book. I highly recommend it.
