As a queer ex-evangelical Christian, I did not go into this book thinking my religious trauma would be triggered. However, I was extremely wrong. This memoir’s format of various stories from the Quran interwoven with her life made me realize how similar all religions truly are… and I have no unbiased way of properly rating this book because of the feelings that left me with.
