If There Be Thorns by V.C. Andrews

Another chilling read by V.C Andrews.

I'm perfectly ok with the incredibly over the top and melodramatic plotlines. Bart and Jory started out as characters I thought I wouldn’t show any interest in (give me Chris and Cathy dammit!), but as the story picked up, my mouth flew open. I'm just surprised that
SpoilerCathy and Chris were able to keep their incestuous secret for so long, even from Madame Marisha, and how overblown that becomes

One question I did have though is
Spoiler Why is John Amos the core villain now? Why wasn't he in Book 2 at all, or even vaguely mentioned by Corrine in Book 1, if he's technically a relative and has been apart of Corrine's life (and therefore a huge part of why the Foxworthy curse is the way it is?) I was a little annoyed by the butler-lusts-for-power-all-along-twist angle. But then quickly started to love it

Onto the last book in the series (and possible Garden of Shadows, if I feel like going for it)
