Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer
5.0
I found this to be a delightful book full of witty humor. Now I understand why students had been constantly borrowing this book out. I found that Eoin Colfer's writing style and wit similar to another favorite author of mine the late Terry Pratchett.
The pace of the story was a little slow right at the beginning but by chapter 3 it become a story in my case I could not stop listening (so for those reading the book you will find it hard to put down). The characters are fantastically meshed out and in some cases remind of people I have meet in my own life. Especially the fae/mythical world characters making more real and accessible and believable than fairy tale whimsical.
It maybe considered fantasy but it has the same vibe as movies such as Ocean's Eleven so high action pact book, this book is a great book to recommend to teenagers to either revisit or are looking for the next big thing.
As this book and the second are coming together in a movie this year I would definitely recommending reading these books first.
