In Which Winnie Halifax is Utterly Ruined by Alexandra Vasti

3.0

Truthfully, I think this is the weakest addition to the series and the one in most need of more pages and more breathing room. Spencer was entirely under-developed and the conflict, particularly in the third act breakup, was so underdone it was essentially raw. It was a promising concept and as always, Vasti's writing is very good, but a rambling third act, a rather abrupt and unsatisfying ending and a real sense of deja vu through a good fifty pages of sex left me feeling as though this could have done with more time in the oven or, indeed, the editing room.
