This isn't amazing but I had fun. You can't think too hard about time travel or about how the protagonist somehow landed in the most ahead-of-their-time family in the 1850s, but then you can have a lot of fun sleuthing in Victorian Edinburgh. One of my favourite parts was Mallory finding out more and more about Catriona and having to reassess all her biases.
