Shock Induction by Chuck Palahniuk
4.0
Book club read.
Brilliantly layered story telling as expected. Narration was incredibly done, although I was about ready to leave it all behind when I hit minute 5 of (trigger warning)the avocado sequence. At times a weird simultaneous mixture of boring and aggravating, which I’m sure was the point and did make it a super fun book to dissect with others.
But most importantly, I swear if I see one more review prattling on about how any negative reviewers just don’t get Chuck like I do, I will find a way to ban you from all artsy coffee shops for the rest of your life. I mean it, stop that.
P.S. to my precious book club member that asked me if this was what people mean when they talk about reading smut: no, buddy, I sure hope not.
