The Flowers of Buffoonery by Osamu Dazai

3.75

I stayed for the writing style. Not the plot because there isn’t much that happens. The narrator interjects himself into the story quite a bit but it was in a way I’ve never seen before (even though the author even states that this is a common writing tool). This book feels like it was written recently. Not in 1935, almost 90 years!! Insane.
