I liked this, it was heartfelt and heartbreaking. The writing style was simple and almost read as YA. In many ways if felt familiar to other immigrant stories (which I often read) - while important I'm unsure how this particular immigrant story will story will stick with me. Shortlisted for Canada Reads 2025.
