Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

4.0

I loved this book! The plot was interesting, family dynamics were great and the 'forbidden' romance of which Clare is a pro at - was heart and gut wrenching. My favourite parts were when we saw Clary and Jace and Tessa and Jem - and I adored how they talked about the Carstairs and the Herondales. It was also so refreshing to not have any annoying Clave and Shadowhunter politics for a whole book. Having not read the last three books of the mortal instruments - I feel as though it did a good job of explaining the Dark War and the Cold Peace to the degree of detail we needed. Great book overall and can't wait for the next ones.
