Insurgent by Veronica Roth

5.0

I am loving this series. Out of all the YA-Distopian novels out there at the moment, this one is by far my favourite.

The characters are very real and quite relatable. I love that no one is perfect in this 'perfect' world.

The plot is always on the move. It never sits still and you are always on the edge of the seat. I find that the action in this novel is much more real than in many other 'violent' novel these days. It's much more real and each blow strikes an impact to the reader.

But these alone are not the reason why I love this one above, say, the Hunger Games, Crossed, or Twilight. The reason I loved this one was the metaphors and themes and symbols. I love when Tris questions Amity about being drugged to feel good all the time. I love the different motives for each faction preforming the same act. Some through bravery, some through kindness, and some through intelectual advancement.

It's vivid, it's vibrant, it's relevant.

It's very smart. And I believe this is the real reason why I will keep coming back to this series and actively await the final instalment.
