This book shook me. What an incredible world weaved into this story. Often, I find Dark Romance books focus heavily on the romance but not on the actual story; where it feels like the plot is an afterthought. But in this book, you get equal parts spice and story. The TW indicated questionable consent practices, however this is nothing like Haunting Adeline; you hear Aheia's inner dialogue and know that despite her verbally saying no, she is definitely down for it. They also have a pre-established safe word that she can use at any point.

The story itself is cleverly crafted, and told from multiple perspectives in third person, and I find this gives me a much more well-rounded experience. The characters are fascinating, and I cannot wait to learn more about the inner circle; only having one chapter from each of their perspectives has me craving more!

I am really looking forward to the second book dropping, and hopefully many more. What a delight!
