The Last Book in the Universe by Rodman Philbrick

3.0

It is probably a great book for 4th-6th graders, but reading it as an adult made me want a trilogy at least. This is a huge universe that got crammed into a couple hundred pages. So characters are generic and the plot, once it gets moving, is filled with deus ex machina. I liked the universe. Liked the idea. Just way too short for my taste. Maybe the author should revisit.

SpoilerAnd what the heck!?!? Bully is his dad??? Where did that come from, and why was it necessary to put in the last few pages of the book? Dumb!
