Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life by Francesc Miralles, Héctor García

informative inspiring reflective relaxing fast-paced

4.0

i liked the different philosophies and methods that this book encompasses. i think that it offers sound advice for little additions and changes that can be made in our lives that can help bring happiness and a sense of purpose.

i will definitely be taking some of the methods mentioned in this book and inserting them in my daily routines now. i feel like i am more mindful about how much i sit around, even if it is while reading a book. i also will probably take some of the “small movements” methods introduced like tai chi or yoga and use them as part of my morning routing. i think this will also be beneficial during points in my day where i should step back and take some deep breaths, and take a break from work.

one thing i noted was that the daily variety of vegetables is something brought up consistently. i will be more mindful about what vegetables i am eating from now on and try to have a wider variety of colors than just what i normally eat, which is brocoli and spinach.

great quick read that i found relaxing. my mom sent me this and also sent a bunch of copies to her friends. i am considering sending copies to my friends as well now lol.
