The main characters captured my interest, and I felt compelled to see them together. The plot points and action, though, felt uneven. It was all or nothing. A sweet romantic date then suddenly trauma and tenseness. Had it been only an action book or only a romance, it may have felt more coherent. This felt confused, and the ending seemed to suddenly triple in action just to create the cliffhanger that ends the book. I'll read the second, so it's by no means a horrible read. It's just uneven.
