Unless the impossible happens, this books will be in my top 5 of the year, it might even be my no. 1!!! I can’t even put into words how much I LOVED IT! ADORED IT! DEVOURED IT!

Every single aspect of this book, from Alex and Darlington’s character development and the dynamic between them to the dark and completely immersive Yale setting, was executed to PERFECTION. Bardugo’s writing is so atmospheric, that I could almost feel the foggy winter chill of New Haven, along with every ounce of Alex’s fear and fascination!

I loved Alex from page one, cause while her morals are at times questionable, her incredible humor, fierce determination, and care for those she loves makes her one of the most appealing characters I’ve read in a long time! I also adored Darlington and Dawes, and I can’t wait to see how the dynamics between all three of them develops in Hell Bent!

Like many of my favorite books, Ninth House has a split timeline and two POVs, and it works so well for the story! Bardugo truly is the queen of perfectly timed flashbacks, and she had me at the edge of my seat, BEGGING for more, at every twist and turn of the story! And there are many twists and turns. I’ve heard it described as slow paced, but to me it felt like every other page had a new reveal or action scene!

Much of the action is fueled by the Grays (ghosts) and the magic of the societies, and I was completely captivated by it! The magic is tied to the actions and feelings of people, and the novel is full of details that make it feel so real, so I’m very excited to see how this is further explored in the sequel!

I’m short, I’m OBSESSED with this book. It has everything I love, and I am itching to get Hell Bent in my hands!
