It hit home. I rarely cried so much and so intensely for a book (and I cry a lot). The first 50 pages or so were difficult for me to get into but after that, it was an emotional rollercoaster.

It probably didn't help that I lost my cat just a week after buying this book, and that so many aspects of the MC's life are close to mine, but it is, in every sense of the way, a beautiful story.
