I found the philosophy too incongruous with a murder mystery. Also didn't connect with Isabel at all. 57 pages in and the mystery has hardly begun at all. I liked The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency but not well enough to continue. I just don't think his writing is for me. Tried another of his books and didn't like it either.
