Firekeeper's Daughter by Angeline Boulley

5.0

A beautiful story about a girl who feels she does not belong to her white family or her native family, but truly belongs to both. I loved the writing style and the authors insertion of her native culture into the story and the main character. It’s also a eye opener to the unfairness of how native women are treated by non-native people and the governments that surround them and their land. I mainly loved all of the beautiful and HEALTHY messages regarding the tragedies that women, especially native women, can face.
