Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout

5.0

"It didn’t matter how many hours, days, months, or years we had stretched out in front of us; we’d always be together. This kind of love was the real deal, stronger than a whole planet full of psycho aliens and an entire government."

That's it. The Lux series has come to an end. And it was a freaking awesome end! I'm already sad about it because I will miss Katy, Daemon and all the others IMMENSELY but the ending of Opposition made it a little easier for me.

When I first started the series I was a little sceptic. I mean, aliens? In highschool? I didn't know what to think of it - especially because I NEVER read any alien books before ... but well, I was sucked into the world Jennifer L. Armentrout created. And WHAT AND AWESOME WORLD IT IS! Fascinating, beautiful but also kind of scary Luxen and their (evil/not so evil) complement, the Arum. I have to say that now, after reading the series and also "Obsession", I'm not so sure who to like more - Arum or Luxen. But that's okay, I love them both and enjoyed both perspectives A LOT.

But about Opposition now! It was action-packed and kind of apocalyptic. It was sad and terrible, even frightening. Romantic and hot at some points and even funny - honestly, it had everything I needed. I loved how Daemon's and Katy's relationship grew even stronger and more mature than it already was - they had to face a lot of ugly and terrible things and still managed to be together. The way they care for each other and always try to help is just amazing and I definitely wouldn't mind find something in real life like they have - without the alien-glowing thing. :D

I was also SUPER excited for the Arum's to show up! Especially since I met Hunter in "Obesession" and NEEDED to see him again! I loved his scenes with the group and that they - kind of - liked and trusted each other. And apropos Arum - That whole underground system was damn interesting! And I liked Lotho - in a strange and disturbing way he is just fascinating. I'm weird, right?

"No matter how rough the future got, this was my family, and I would do anything to keep them safe."

I'm also happy about all the other charaters - Dee, Archer, Luc and Dawson & Beth! We got to know some of them a little more (especially Luc had his moments that I really enjoyed!) and the general dynamic between all of them was awesome. I loved how they all became friends and helped each other.

Well and the ending itself? It was fabulous! Especially the epilogue was gorgeous and super cute and I loved it to pieces! Simply perfect.
SpoilerTHEY CAME ALL TOGETHER, GOD! And even Hunter called them to ask how they are - i couldn't ask for more! But damn ... it was so cute that Beth & Dawson named her girl after Ash. It made me really happy although I never really liked her but they were right. She sacrificed herself and saved Beth and the baby. I'm totally okay with that. And to be honest, the girl seems to be a really cutie! And I LOVED it when Luc showed up ... and especially when he carried the little one then! God, he's awesome. I'm also happy that Archer and Dee ended up together and that Daemon is (kind of) okay with it. The epilogue was just pure perfection, yes.

"Everything had started with Dawson and Beth. And everything ended with Daemon and me."

Now, THANK YOU Jennifer! I had lots of fun with this amazing series and I'm sure I will reread it again and again because you created an awesome bunch of characters and an amazing world! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! :')
