This volume focuses mainly on Amir's friend Pariya, who must re-sew her dowry cloth after her house is burned down. This arc presents a challenge for her, as she needs to focus on sewing and gets help from Amir' family on how to stay focused. They help her figure out ways to work that are best for her, and she has this great support group. However, poor girl, she's also battling anxiety about potentially scaring off her intended husband.

This volume also seemingly finishes Anis and Sherine's story from the previous volume, showing them happy and blissful in their lives as avowed sisters and wives to Anis's husband.

This volume shows us Amir's brother, Azel, as the new leader of his clan, and the struggles they will face come winter.

We also get to see a chapter in which Amir and Karluk go out for a day picnic with their horses, and when they come back, he asks her to teach him to shoot a bow. It also shows that they are so much more comfortable with each other now. In their private room, they're not shy anymore about touching or holding each other, and there's a panel in particular that had me go "awww."
