My wife asked me about this book and the only words I could come up with was “cinnamon roll bone daddy”

But seriously, I picked this up out of curiosity and it took all of 10 pages of Orpheus and I understood and would die for this sweet duskwalker. His attention to every detail, his backstory, his earnest sincerity in every action, EVERYTHING he does for Reia, he is an unconventional MMC but I honestly adore him. He is the definition of “if he wanted to, he would” even if he has no clue why he just wants to make Reia happy and that is so sweet. Reia’s story pulled my heart strings but I think the ending was good and I loved the discussion on the last few pages about what to do with her village bully!

I’ll be picking up the second one, I really liked how they wove in the Mavka MMC from the second book into this one, not just as a one off but as a genuine important part of the plot!
