One False Move by Harlan Coben

These books are like candy - enjoyable, but too much at once makes you sick. There's a long wait for the next book in the series so hopefully it'll be a nice palate cleansing break.
The whole series is an exercise in enjoying situations if you can suspend disbelief, and the sardonic commentary sprinkled throughout is amusing, but it's also getting kind of tiresome with the same scenarios played again and again in minor variations.
The other thing that kept taking me out of just enjoying the story is the sentence structure: everything is a staccato simple sentence. Maybe less noticeable when reading than listening? But: "Myron opened the car door. He got in. The visor was up. He put in the CD. Abba played. (Sarcastic comment about being into modern music). He started the car." Not a direct quote, don't worry, but definitely the pattern.
