I’ve read a lot of alien/sci fi romances and none ever had this concept. Can you imagine being like hey I’m going to buy a ticket to a concert to see my favorite musician on the other side of the Milky Way? No? Neither could I, till I read this book.

The story is about a pop star named Kallista and she needs a bodyguard, simply put. Kallista is overworked, in a serious need of standing up to others and protecting herself. There comes in Xavian, bounty hunter turned bodyguard. Kalliata is a human, from Luna and he’s from Terra. The backdrop alone for the book is a very fascinating one and I found it incredibly immersive. One of my favorite things about Xav is his need to protect Kallista whilst giving her the push she needs to stop letting those around her walk all over her.

I can’t wait to see this world expanded and Aiken (side character) NEEDS his own story.

There’s SO much representation in here, ones where I’d suggest highly to check the TWs! Also, there was great scenes, talks about parasocial relationships, how celebrities are viewed/treated and it felt very real. The book is definitely more plot than spice but the pining/tension was phenomenal.
