It's been a while since I've been so devastated by a book! It took all I had not to cry over that ending. No one even cared, and my chest hurts. God. The writing style was gorgeous and I adored Clare, what a character! Irene was a bit dull, but I suppose a theatrical character like Clare needed a straight man to riff off, huh? What a sad, fascinating story the two of them had!
