The blurb sounded interesting but unfortunately this book wasn’t for me and I had a hard time trying to get into the story and also trying to connect with the characters.

I personally didn’t like either of the main characters. They weren’t badly written or anything like that, but personally I found the FMC to be quite annoying and naive, and the MMC abusive and narcissistic. 


If I understood correctly, the books in this series could be read as standalones. I haven’t read the previous book and I was so confused by what was happening at the beginning of the book, who the characters were etc. It’s completely possible that I understood it wrong and you can’t read the books as standalones, but if the books are in fact interconnected standalones, it would be helpful to have some kind of introduction to characters at the beginning of the book.
