I love a good epic fantasy but I don't love politics. Because of that, I was interested in Xiala and Serapio but not Narampa and the priests. That is personal taste for sure but her sections of the book really dragged for me. Xiala and Serapio, however, were both really engaging and exciting and I was tearing through their sections to see where the story would go and what would happen on the day of convergence. The romance felt forced to me so that detracted from the ending but overall, this was a solid read.
