The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
5.0
The hype is real. It's so so real and you don't have to know anything about Hollywood or how wonderfully fucked up it all was during the 1940s and 50s, the highlight of Evelyn Hugo's career. After seeing so many people rave about how amazing this book was, I knew I had to read it. Such a beautifully written novel is something that I am going to cherish for so long. I've spent much of my academic career studying stars and Evelyn Hugo has a scandal filled career to best any of them. The representation in this is so awesome, with almost all areas of the world being covered in just these two complex women. It's the kind of book I stayed up until the early hours of the morning listening to just so I could learn what happens next. It'll make you smile, it'll make you weep- but it's such a wonderful story that you won't ever want to stop reading. If you read any book this year, read this one.
