I do not have adequate words to describe the profound impact of this book. I think we can all agree that a nuclear war will have no winners; that somewhere in our brains, we all understand this core concept of Armageddon. What this book does, is cement it into your psyche, forever leaving its mark in your consciousness. This book will change you. You will never be able to go back to the time before Nuclear War became a nugget wedged into your brain. 

Nuclear War: A Scenario is phenomenal and terrifying. This book should absolutely be on every single TBR.

A note on the writing: Jacobsen takes years of technical data, classified documents, interviews, journals, articles, and history and manages to transform that research into a book that is easily understood and made for the everyday reader. She does an outstanding job taking a complex research-driven scenario and presenting it in an engaging, compelling, and accessible book.
