Wicked All Night by Jeaniene Frost
5.0
4 stars is the lowest I have ever rated a Jeaniene Frost book and doing so to one of Ian's just makes me cry.
In my personal opinion, everything that she writes is gold and Ian & Veritas were my favourite couple so far and while I loved the first two books, this one just didn't feel the same.
Nothing happened regarding Veritas no longer being brought back from the dead by her father. I thought she would find a way to activate that ability herself. I even had a suspicion that her father may gift Ian that ability too but that was just me daydreaming.
There isn't a lot of romance scenes in this book compared to her others. I would have loved to see more of Ian being romantic or even Veritas sweeping Ian off his feet.
I even thought that Tenoch might play a role in this book. My predictions went along the lines of he never killed himself but it was Phanes who killed him trying to find Veritas/Ariel. If her father couldn't find him because he wasn't in the underworld then Leila could touch something of his and witnessed his final moments of him dying at the hands of Phanes and left for the ghouls. It would have been nice to know that Veritas was wrong in thinking that he created Mencheres and Vlad just to kill her but instead to protect her.
What I was most sad about was the lack of happily ever after scene at the end of the book. The battle ended, there was a very cute line about Home and that was it. It would have been nice to read even a small domestic scene where they can plan their honeymoon or just be together after everything they went through.
No matter what though, Jeaniene, you will always be my number one favourite author!
