“Happiness Falls” is a beautifully written story of a family in crisis. The thesis that nonspeaking people are not less than is heartwarming and vitally important. The novel is incredibly well researched, and I loved the exploration of how we view our parents, linguistics, and happiness. I adore Angie Kim’s writing style and will be picking up her debut novel next.
