This book is packed with genuinely beautiful writing. The imagery is out of this world, and I'm completely in awe of [a:Anthony Doerr|28186|Anthony Doerr|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1417812584p2/28186.jpg]. This story is gut-wrenching; Doerr knows just how to build up your hope then tear it down. Definitely worth a read for those interested in the World War II era, it's one of the best historical novels I've read. Truly unforgettable.
