I actually liked this story but it suffered from drag so much. Like it just dragged on and on with the same thing. Abigail going oh no I don’t want him I won’t marry him then making out with him then getting mad at him and storming away yelling she hates him. Over and over again. But the world building was good and the story is really intriguing. I’m definitely going to pick up the next book to continue the series. I appreciated that Valroy was himself and didn’t pander to what others (or Abigail) wanted him to be. He knew he was hated and feared and just rolled with it. 

TW - there is animal dea*h as tagged by a few people and it’s almost entirely related to hunting / eating. A few times in the maze when something would die (the story is violent). A few ra** tags but I don’t recall anything of the sort happening. He definitely tried to kiss her and make him want her but pretty much backed off the second she said no.
