Recipe for Love by Anne Malcom

This was such a cute, heartbreakingly good and lovely quick read. Nora and Henry were believable (as in in love) and romantic. I did find myself questioning the fact that they’ve said like 3 things to each other, but he just becomes her hero one night and barges into her house and says he’s staying. The plot twist was something I didn’t see coming and i was unexpectedly sobbing through some of this book. It was written well enough and had well rounded characters, in the sense that the characters were distinguishable from one another. It’s small town, bakery, no third act breakup (kind of), happy ever after a tragic thing happens (TW for this, dr*gs and passing.).
I feel like I could understand Nora a lot due to her anxiety, and while mine may be a little different, and show in different ways, I don’t think I’ve seen a character of a book yet with anxiety that presents the way it does.
The only thing I found slightly distracting was that a lot of the time, Henry didn’t speak in full sentences. I’m sure that’s how a lot of us speak, but because it was written down, I noticed it. It didn’t bother me because I knew what the author was trying to do. If I had been listening to it, I probably wouldn’t have even noticed. There was a lot of inner thoughts, which I didn’t mind!
