If I could give this book more stars I would. This is by far the best read of 2023 so far.
Celie is everything I love about main characters. And Michal is everything I love about vampires. (Also I can’t help but picture Alucard but with short hair from Castlevania).
The whole plot kept me on my toes and I never could quite guess what was going to happen next. Or if I thought, “this could happen” I would be led astray and then it would happen.
I personally think The Scarlet Veil is light years better than Serpent and Dove. So if you enjoyed those and Mahurin’s writing, you will absolutely LOVE The Scarlet Veil.
