nothing happens in the book. it's them reeling from what has happened. 

this book reads like one of khaled hosseini's work just less impactful (for me, at least) i feel like i've read a better version of this story with more compelling prose and characters. 

nothing outright wrong with it just not a groundbreaking body of work. good enough for the average reader.
