was a bit distracted while reading so rating may go up on re-read
pros:
- some lovely language and phrases
- enjoyed how stories mingled and related to each other, an interesting take on a short-story collection and folklore-y in nature
- original and interesting
- some stories I very much liked
cons:
- less fond of how inter-personal drama it was rather than focused on magic
- some tales, though told in new ways, felt like they followed staid formula of cheating husband/jealous wife, etc.
- some terminology annoying, like girlies
- very focused on heterosexual romance and not a huge amount else
