i don't know how to word my feelings about this book other than the tone wasn't what i was expecting, and yet i wish it had been even more unexpected. i found myself wanting more from the secondary characters, who i feel like i know absolutely nothing about. and even though i can pretty certainly say that this, while inspired by some real people, isn't the fanfic that i saw it touted as, the entire experience was just a little too close to that, leaving me feeling uncomfortable and like i had been spying and invading someone's privacy, opposed to being submerged in someone's story and feeling things for them and alongside them. it was strange tbh and there were a few times i felt miserable reading in a not great way

but i did stay up until 3 am to finish it so...make of that what you will
