The Prettiest One by James Hankins

2.0

I only read this because I had finished my other Kindle title, and was too lazy to borrow something else from the library. This, a free title for Amazon Prime members, was there. Hence, inertia started me reading this book, and inertia kept me reading far past when I should have stopped. The main character's been gone for seven months, but cannot remember a thing about her life. Her husband helps her look for clues. The characters are flat and repeat themselves too much. The dialogue and the character's internal voices range from illogical to hokey to eye-rolling. I stopped at 47% in, and then skipped ahead to chapter 37 (91% in). Thanks to the repetition, I felt like I hadn't missed a thing. I finished it from that point, but hey, don't be lazy like me. Go find something else to read.
