Read the trigers!!I really enjoyed this book it didn't get into the horror or mythology til the very end. It reads alot more like a gothic and its not really scary as it is suspenseful. As someone who mainly reads classics and older books alot of modern fiction books are hard for me but this was such an engaging story. One thing that takes me out of alot of modern books is sex and cursing but in this it all made sense and added to the plot. I really liked how all the sexual content had alot of meaning to the plot or to understanding the main guy nick without going into heavy detail. Like you know what sex acts are being done without it being super descriptive and you understand why its important to the story. This book had some things i normally dont like in my books but all of it worked so well with the story. It goes back in forth chapters between then (the main guys childhood) and now (the current guy as an adult) and normally I'm not a fan of dual povs I don't like when it switches especially time switches but for this book it really really works and I really enjoyed it. it starts out early with a pretty graphic scene of killing animals that almost made me dnf right away but if that stuff isn't super triggering for u push through it it's definitely worth it.
