not as good as the first book of the series imo, matthew seems very toxic in a way similar to the men of the twilight series. it induced a lot of eye rolls and cringes.

a deeper story about Diana and Mary Sidney would have been great, plus the plot lines with Goody Alsop et al would have made for a much more interesting story that would further progress diana finding herself in a meaningful way.
