16 years after Rachel Price disappears leaving her 2 year old daughter Bel in the back seat, the Price family is filming a documentary. Suddenly Rachel reappears, and 18-year-old Bel has a lot of questions.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat! I love the main character Bel! She is foul-mouthed, doggedly persistent, and a complex character as she reckons with Rachel’s reappearance. The exploration of parent-child relationships in this novel was fascinating, and I did not see that ending coming. Holly Jackson does it again! I may like this one even more than “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” :)
