why am i reading so many rom-coms this year lol
anyways, this was...enjoyable? Becky Albertalli books are lighthearted and funny if nothing else, and there were parts that literally had me laughing out loud (why was the naked/"neigh, kid" thing so funny? I don't know, but I was wheezing for a solid three minutes after I read that. why is my sense of humor so screwed up.)
The plot was...nearly nonexistent (but aren't most rom-coms?), and I do wish the whole Mikey/Mario plots hadn't been so drawn out (honestly, 70% of the book felt like Arthur panicking between Ben/Mikey and Ben being freaking out over whether he was Mario's boyfriend). Samantha and Dylan were some of the best parts of this book (Dylan is so weird but he's amusing.) And Ethan's little subplot was a welcome surprise :)
I feel like the ending of this book happened rly rly fast - like, I would've liked to see more instead of it all happening so fast but whatever. The ending was cute regardless lol and idc if it was "too perfect" or whatever
also this is just a shoutout to all the musical references (I almost screamed when "Don't Lose Ur Head" was mentioned) and also now i really really want to go to pride what the heck
