I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

5.0

4.5 stars

I put this one off for a bit because I wasn't familiar with Jenette McCurdy at all, being a little too old for her iCarly era. I finally came around to reading it for a project-- reading the top 5 most-read books of 2023, according to Goodreads. Full thoughts here.

I appreciated McCurdy's approach to her own story, the way that her simplicity in language and matter-of-factness seat us so well in her experience, but still gives us room to draw our own conclusions. It was really emotionally affecting.
