This series was both surprisingly good at moments and surprisingly bad at moments. Overall, I like it, but only so-so.
This book in particular - halfway through I was sure I was going to give it 4 stars, but… I don’t like the way it ended. I felt there was great sadness without much reason. There was also a little glimmer of hope that made it somewhat better, but not as good as if the great sadness hadn’t happened.
