Reading from the perspective of the antagonist is so fun. I was stressed out this entire book, I felt like I was the one that was getting caught plagiarizing. Or that I was the one walking on egg shells keeping this secret. I hate that I love the main character, she was extremely well written. Id imagine that Kuang wrote June to be more likable than she likely would be in reality since it was from her POV. I almost feel bad for her because people never told her why her rhetoric is harmful, they only called her a racist (even though thats true). It makes sense that she alway framed herself as the victim. Watching June convince herself that what she was doing was the right thing by keeping her friends memory alive was really interesting, and I can see why she made the choices she did even though I don't agree with them.
