Counting the Cost by Derick Dillard, Craig Borlase, Jill Duggar

dark reflective sad tense fast-paced

3.0

This book was very interesting to me. I didn't grow up Christian, never mind in a cult. But Jill Duggar explains very well how all-pervasive the teachings of her childhood were. It makes sense that, being homeschooled and only spending much time with other cult members, that she wouldn't questions those fundamentals. I'm glad for her that she's gotten therapy, and that she has somewhat distanced herself from her family. She's still conservative Christian, and the book delves into the importance to her of her relationship with her own faith. I found it very interesting, if bewildering.
