Darling Girls by Sally Hepworth

5.0

Sally Hepworth's Darling Girls has quickly become my new favorite of her books! From the very first page, I was captivated by the story, and I couldn't put it down. I absolutely loved it, and I urge anyone who has ever enjoyed her books to grab this one immediately – you won't be disappointed!

The novel introduces us to three foster sisters, Jessica, Norah, and Alicia, who formed an incredibly close bond while growing up on the beautiful Wild Meadows farm with their seemingly loving foster mother. Now in their 30s, they've moved on with their lives, but when a body is discovered buried beneath the home they once called their own, long-buried secrets from their time at Wild Meadows resurface. The foster sisters find themselves not only as key witnesses but also potential prime suspects.

Without giving away any spoilers, I can confidently say that Darling Girls has everything I adore in a domestic thriller: relatable characters, a multitude of well-kept secrets, a thought-provoking and relevant backdrop (in this case, the foster system), and a last chapter that leaves a lasting impact. Sally Hepworth's writing is sharp, witty, engaging, and utterly addictive.

I'm certain that this book will become another bestseller for the talented Australian author, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone! Don't miss out on this gripping read.
