I was not expecting to have my heart broken with this book. Such a beautiful story about the terrors of colonialism and the lengths that people will go to protect their way of life. The magic system is based on linguistics and reliant on silver which are predominantly controlled by the British empire. It was fun to see this completely new kind of magic.
